This workshop is being taught by Denise Pelletier. I will be a participant along with Sarah Burnett and Travis Krause. I am excited to paint plein air in Canada!
I will post images of the work produced soon.
Principled is part two of the "Elemental 2015" show first seen at the Tointon Gallery, Greeley, Colorado.
The focus will be seven principles of design as interpreted by five artists (Dan Augenstein, Zach Kiess, Travis Krause, Colleen Martin, and Berndt Savig) and one curator (Stephanie Newton).
The show will be opened at the Tointon Gallery, Greeley, Colorado in mid December of 2017 and hang until the beginning of February 2018.

Daniel has two pieces accepted into the 51st Annual NGAE art show. Sunlit Tree - Hidden Valley and Winter in Clear Creek both painted in oil. The show is only up for the weekend at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, Colorado.
A side note: Daniel is a Board Member of the NGAE and chairs the Scholarship Committee. (This didn't guarantee his work to be juried in to the show!) Each year, the NGAE give a minimum of two scholarships to college art students and two fellowships to community artists! Check out the NGAE website for future opportunities for scholarships or to enter into next year's show! www.ngae-artshow.com
Daniel will be one of 53 Colorado artists selected to show their work at this 25th Anniversary Art Show at the Loveland Museum Gallery. The Opening Night Gala Reception will be on April 28th from 6 to 9:00PM. Dan will show four pieces.
Dan's painting, "Reflection in Butchart Garden," was featured in the April edition of Southwest Art Magazine on page 28! http://www.southwestart.com/events/governors-show-apr2017
The Governor's Art Show will also sponsor a Plein Air event on May 20, 2017. Daniel will be one of the artists involved in this event. Go to the Governor's Art Show website for more specific information about where the artists will be painting. www.governorsartshow.org
These Plein Air pieces will be auctioned off at 3:30PM at the Rialto Theater located at 222 E. 4th Street in downtown Loveland. The Governor's Art Show is an annual fundraiser for the Loveland Rotary Club benefiting many causes in the community.
The Elemental Show is traveling to Parker, Colorado in January of 2017!
40+ pieces of art interpreting the elements of design by five artists and one curator can be viewed one more time! The artists, Zack Kiess, Travis Krause, Colleen Martin, Berndt Savig, and Dan Augenstein display sculpture, paintings, ceramics, and drawings. It will be hung at the Parker Arts, Culture, and Event Center (PACE) at 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue. The show will exhibit the same work as at the Tointon Gallery, Greeley, Colorado in January-February of 2016 with the exception of three new pieces to replace work that is exhibited elsewhere.

Madison and Main Gallery hosts its 27th winter show featuring the works of guest artists and gallery members. Daniel Augenstein is exhibiting two new works - still wet at the hanging! - and "The Lace Purchase - Burano" which hung in the 2015 Governor's Art Show.
"The Lace Purchase - Burano" - Oil - 32 x 68 inches - $4850
The Harvest Salon Art Show, curated by Charles Luna, features the work of fifteen artists of varying styles and media. Daniel Augenstein shows a variety of works from drawings to paintings. Three of the pieces are works from the Elemental show seen in January 2016 at the Tointon Gallery.
Every year, the artists who show in the Governor's Art Show in Loveland, Colorado are invited to paint a piece of art during a "plein air" event. The work must be painted in just 2.5 hours and is later put up for auction as a fundraiser for the Loveland Rotary Club who sponsors the Governor's show. This year they invited artists who were not accepted to be in the show. That includes me!
Come out to downtown Loveland and check out the painters working fast and furious. We will all have balloons flying above our easels and be located within walking distance of the Re-fine-d Gallery on 225 East 4th Street. Call or check in at the gallery for our approximate locations. At 2:00 much of the work will be auctioned off to raise money for the Rotary activities throughout the calendar year with starting bids of $100.
In the thumbnail you can see Pam Osborn holding the "plein air" piece I did in May of 2015. The event was held at her historic farm and she bought my piece at the auction!
A to Z in the Garden is the theme for this year's Garden Show which is curated by me and Susan Nelson at Greeley, Colorado's Madison and Main Gallery at 927 16th Street. Patrons and visitors to the gallery will be able to stroll through the space and work through the letters of the alphabet with garden and spring-themed works by the gallery artists.
The letter that I drew in the alphabet lottery was "Q." I will show a small 8"x10" oil of a quince branch in full bloom.

The National Greeley Art Exhibit (NGAE) will open at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, Colorado on April 29th and close on May 1, 2016. This is the 50th Anniversary of this show which originally was named the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Art Mart. The purpose of the NGAE is to raise funds for college scholarships and fellowships for artists.
I was a "featured artist" many years ago. This year the NGAE has invited past featured artists to submit two works to be hung at the show. "Cactus and Flowers," an oil painting that hung in last year's Governor's Art Show will be one of the pieces I will show at the NGAE.
